Trump pardons former adviser Michael Flynn
The US President pardons former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who has admitted perjury to the FBI.
"I am honored to announce that General Michael T. Flynn has been fully pardoned. Congratulations Flynn and his wonderful family, I know you guys are going to have a really great Thanksgiving now.
Flynn, retired military general, was Trump's first national security adviser but was fired just 24 days after in office.
However, he later changed his lawyer, sought to change his confession, asserted that he had never lied to investigators.
Democrats are angry at Trump's decision.
Flynn is a former top-level official who has been pardoned by Trump since he took office.
American presidents have issued amnesty or reduced sentences when they are about to leave office.
Trump once reduced the sentence to Roger J. Stone Jr., another associate involved in the 2016 investigation accusing Russia of election interference, who was convicted of seven felony counts and about to serve a 40-month sentence indoors
